All the Howe feels
I’ve been working on the comic a lot lately, because of the newly established collaboration with Zim (IF YOU DIDN’T KNOW ZIMRATHON IS JOINING ME AS A CO-WRITER AND EDITOR WHEE) is inspiring me like crazy. Also I’ve been experimenting with brushes (I’ve inked the next two pages with a bit of a different brush and I like it!).
But mostly it’s because ALL THESE NATHANIEL HOWE FEELS omg. I don’t know what brought them back so acutely. But it’s all kinds of awesome, and wonderful, and with Zim in the team, I think we can take the story a lot further than it would’ve been if I’d been writing it on my own. <3 Basically I’m just drawing the hell out of the comic again ^^ And doing a lot of invisible background work. ;)
There’s something else in it too… I reread Ru’s comic recently and ARGH RENDON HOWE ARGH. Which leads me to the next thing - recently when I’ve been drawing Nathaniel’s face, there are times when Rendon seems to be looking back at me. It’s odd… and instead of rage or hatred I actually just feel this hollow wistfulness. Agh. I’m not sure I have a name for it just yet. Just that I’m feeling the impact of the whole story - Rendon’s schemes, the destruction of Highever castle, Recruiting Nathaniel - very strongly right now. I guess that’s a good thing for the comic at least.
I’m not sure what it’s doing to the rest of my life though. XD Oh dear.
Anyway I didn’t want to post anything that DID give me Rendon feels while I drew so I won’t ruin them for you guys, so have a Nate patting a horse. (They’ll be explained the page after the next)
Uhmmmm what just happened
Yeah I’m finally making reference sheets for myself. I was going to make them into layers - like paper dolls, you know, just slap on the different outfits on separate layers because I’m lazy.
Of course one has to start from, uh, skin. You know, to know where scars are. And what the… proportions are.

Just to tell you I haven’t forgotten about the comic, a bit of a sneak peek. My my, what’s going on?
I have three pages in the works, but I fear I will not be able to finish them before I leave for Italy, and I’ll only come back on the 12th of August D: I’m sorry about this slow update rate! I guess I just really have to start actually doing what I do for living more seriously. X__X
